Hello, everyone!

Today I’m very glad and a little excited to stand here to give this speech. Strictly Speaking, I think I should call it some stories

about environment protection. So now let’s share my stories

together.

Story one:

As is known to all, Singapore is a country called“Garden City”.It has beautiful environment, clean water and fresh air. But one of my teachers  who went there to travel once told me that:

Everywhere in Singapore are signs of all kinds. They are almost

written in English, but when it comes to“No spitting”.“No smoki-ng”. And So on, they are written in Chinese! First I was a little surprised and confused, then I felt much angry and at last I felt de-eply ashamed. I think when any Chinese see these signs, they will feel unhappy and shameful. But after that, don’t we think that it

is because of ourselves? My dear brothers and sisters, what we are waiting for? It’s high time we took strong measures to do better

in environment to leave better impression on others.

Story two:

This was my true experience in Hangzhou. Once I was in Hangzho-u with my parents. When we were waiting for the bus at the bus shelter, a group of men happened to do an experiment there ,They put a plastic bag on the ground ,and then shot it with a camera to see if there is anyone to pick it up. I was greatly interested in it

and decided to watch the experiment from beginning to end. At fir-st I thought there must be someone to pick it up, but I was too

optimistic. Many people saw it and someone even stepped on it,but no one had intention to pick it up and threw it into the dustbin .An idea occurred to me at that moment -----what if it was a

one-hundred yuan note? Finally, both of the people at present got very disappointed. Is it only the Cleaners’ responsibilities to clean o-ur city ?Isn’t the city our  home ,too? Most of us make our homeclean , but few people have the idea that we should also make ourcity clean. What a shame it is to us Chinese!

   I don’t think it’s necessary for me to tell you more stories ,

Just according to the stories mentioned above ,I think they have already given us a shock. My dear friends, it’s high time  that we

put our heart into the environment protection. Napoleon Hill ever

said: “If you can not do great things, do small thing in a great way.”  Let’s do it immediately ! Let’s do it right now !!
