Ladies and gentlemen. I’m Zhu Qinyi. Today I’m very glad to be here to give you a talk. My topic is “For the sake of a brighter tomorrow”.

First let me begin my speech with a reply of scenes familiar to most, if not all, of those present here today.

Mum, I’m sorry, but I need 2800 yuan for my tuition this year. Mum, it’s my friend’s birthday this Sunday, I must buy her a present. Mum, this skirt was out of style long before, would you do me a favor? Take, take, take. The relation between a mother and a child always seems to follow such a pattern. I know my mother is always there for me, providing me with everything I need; from food to clothing, from tuition to pocket money.

Like a child endlessly asking, we humans have been demanding what we desire from nature and it never stops. Everybody enjoys the comfort and beautify of our nature; but who cares about the pollution. Which is happening in our neighborhood? However, we are lucky, because we live in Anji.

It’s Anji, a place with green hills and clean water. It’s Anji, a place with brilliant leaders and hard-working people. It’s Anji a place with lots of bamboos and chairs. In recent years, great changes have taken place here, tall buildings stand everywhere, new roads made people more convenient when they travel. However one thing we shall pay attention to is the connection between quick-developed economy and our environment. We are not willing to see that, one day the air is polluted with smoke, the sky is not clean any more, the birds cry hard because there is no place for them to live in. Considering this, we must be friendly to our environment when developing our industry. People must set the importance of environmental protection in mind.

We announce that we have only one home. It is our clean earth. We shall love her, protect her and make her look and feel beautiful. We love our hometown-Anji. We love our earth. We are confident to have a brighter future. It’s time that we must do something useful to protect the environment. And I do believe that we can do something for the sake of a brighter tomorrow by starting it now. With us in this generation.
