Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen! I’m Fay, I’m from Anji Foreign Language School. Today my topic is : Nature: the rhythm of life
Every time when I hear the beautiful music, I can’t help recalling the days when I was a little girl. I began learning to play the piano when I was six years old. At first I wasn’t interested in it at all , mom said to my kindly: “ my honey, if you try to make friends with the piano, you will have a lot of fun.” “Really?” “Of course. As long as you put your mind to it, you can make it.” Under my mom’s encouragement, I began practicing the piano diligently. After a long time of my efforts paid off and I was able to play many pieces of music. Then I felt so proud of myself, I began to behave arrogantly. My piano teacher noticed this and told me: “ If you want to be an excellent pianist, first of all, you should love and respect your piano. You should obey the rules of playing it, Only if you obey this rules, can you make harmonious melodies. Do remember: Play the piano not only with your hands, but also with your heart and soul.
Ladies and gentlemen, I believe that nature to people should be like my piano is to me. Isn’t it true that the way people get along with nature should be the same as how I deal with my piano? Isn’t it true that we have been so conceited that we take nature for granted, which brings about the discord between nature and ourselves? Since my piano and I have finally reached harmony, why can’t people and nature head towards the same direction?
Ladies and gentlemen, we can not wait. Nor can we afford to wait until we see the mountains in Anji aren’t so green, water isn’t clean any more and air isn’t so fresh as it used to be; When we find no beautiful county of Anji, no nice garden named Zhong Nan Bai Cao Yuan, no ecological square to hold any concerts in, how sad will it be! Let’s love and respect nature, nature is the piano people have played for thousands of years. Let us treasure it, and play it with our heart and soul. Let us observe its rules while developing our industries, changing our traffic system, and improving our living conditions. Let’s look forward to the day when people and nature will together produce the most beautiful and peaceful music. On that day, I am sure to be here with my piano, to join the world orchestra, in playing the ode to harmony, the eternal harmony between people and nature!
Let my speech today be an melody to that grand symphony!
Thank you judges!
And thanks to everyone for listening!
