What We are Hoping for

Good morning/afternoon , Dear judges , teachers and schoolmates :
I am Li Shiwen , I`m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech . Today my topic is Sowing What Is Green and Harvesting What We ARE Hoping For . I feel very very happy that I see so many friends sitting here who have determined to devote themselves to protect the environment .
All of us hope to see a dark blue sky . When we look up . All of us hope to walk on the ground which is covered by green grass . All of us hope to have our houses situated by a lake with clean water in it . All of us hope to be under the sun shinning brightly for the whole day .
We know , the human rare has got too much from the nature . The nature has got out of patience and begun to counterattack it . Every year we suffer from hurricane , rainstorm , snowstorm , flood and drought , plague of insects , fire of forests , earthquake and so on . There are more than one hundred million sufferers from different disasters every year .
To stop all the disasters , many , many rules and new laws have been issued by our government so that our forests and wild animals in them could be protected . In March 2004 . Eco-day was established in our county . In 2005 , our county was named the First Eco-county of China . For the people of Anji county the practice of protecting the environment is the great work lasting for generation , that`s to say for many coming years . Anji will certainly be an excellent sample which is to tell the world that Anji county is a green land .
Do you think that it is a great enjoyment to see and to feel anything green ? But anything green should be protected by us , the people who live with it .
If you ask me who I like best . I will tell you that I like the ones who have determined to devote themselves to protect the environment .
Dear friend , let`s go into action and do our bit towards protecting our green county , let the green be always with us . That`s all . Thank you !
